Out now the 4th issue of the Research Directorate Newsletter.

The first edition of the SWSLHD Research Directorate newsletter launched in September 2022. The newsletter will be an avenue to communicate research news, opportunities and developments to all SWSLHD researchers. Research Directorate intends to disseminate this newsletter monthly but this will be reviewed in light of feedback received and availability of content. The information contained in the newsletter will evolve over time, but is intended to be a snapshot of research achievements, training and opportunities.

Looking ahead into 2023 and beyond, it is clear the release of NSW Health’s Future Health 2022-2032 will guide the provision of health care in NSW over the next decade. It will be important for all of us to consider how research is relevant to the priorities identified by NSW Health, including patient experience, safety, prevention, the health workforce, innovation and digital advances and environmental sustainability.
The increased emphasis around the world, including in NSW, on measuring the impact of the research we fund, will support and guide investment of public funds for research where they will have the most impact.
And it is also clear health equity is a key priority for the NSW Government and NSW Health and the data and the infrastructure to store it, link it and keep it secure, is also a priority for the future.
