  1. Font
  • Use Arial font and no smaller than font size 11.
  • Headings to be larger font and maybe bolded
  • Text should be left aligned
  • If using bullet points be consistent throughout the whole resource
  • Use bold or larger font to emphasize important points, do not overuse.
  • Do not use CAPITAL LETTERS, italics or underlining of words in the text, as it can be difficult to read.

b. Divide your text and provide bite-sized information chunks.

  • Break complicated information into bulleted or numbered points
  • Ensure appropriate paragraphs spacing and headings to space text information
  • Overall design balance of picture/text and white space, avoid a ‘cluttered’ page.
  • Use words for numbers 1-9 (one to nine), but numbers from 10 onwards.

c. Images and logos

  •  All diagrams and pictures must have copyright clearance in writing and be kept with diagram/picture original for future reference.
  • Use diagrams/pictures to help explain information, do not overuse unless necessary.
  • Select from Thinkstock from SWSLHD Media Unit
  • SWSLHD logo must be on the RIGHT_HAND SIDE of the page
