Please find below links to some tools we think you will find useful. When using any information tool you should always engage your critical faculties especially if you are making decisions that will impact on patient care or your own wellbeing.

Who?  Who (individual or organisation) is behind the information you are reading? Are they authoritative?

What? What is the evidence? What is the proof that what you are reading is true?

Why? Why has that information been published? Are they trying to sell something - can you see their agenda?

When? How old is the information? Is it out of date? Is it still true but more recent studies have taken it in a different direction?

Where? Where is the source? Do you have the citation or web report link to the original information,

Remember also not to upload confidential information into an AI program and follow ethical good practice in using AI for study, work or research.

ChatGPT

ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by OpenAI. It uses the GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) architecture, specifically designed to understand and generate human-like text based on the input it receives. ChatGPT was launched on 30 November 2022.  Although it is an amazing resource GPT 3.5 only has reliable access to the internet up to September 2021 and is usually unable to link to the sources of the information it uses to answer a question. It can still be used for some tasks but anything requiring current information should be done on the GPT 4 version. At the time of writing (26.7.24) Chat GPT 3.5 is free and Chat GPT 4 is $20 USD a month.
