Congratulations Dr Bernadette Brady!
Congratulations to Dr Bernadette Brady who was awarded Allied Health Professional of the Year at the recent 2024 Excellence in Allied Health Awards.
Dr Brady is a musculoskeletal and pain physiotherapist who holds a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapy position at Liverpool Hospital. A dedicated clinician-researcher, Bernadette advanced her career in SWSLHD from a new graduate to her current level 6 specialty role, completing a clinical masters degree and PhD along the way. Bernadette’s clinical and research initiatives have advanced equity in pain management and are the first published programs designing pain treatment to be responsive to the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. In her post-doctoral work, she embeds culturally responsive research in clinical settings and, as part of her conjoint affiliations with The University of Sydney and Western Sydney University, she strives to improve chronic disease outcomes for CALD communities. Bernadette is a mentor to clinicians across the district, a supervisor of students and a partner to consumers with an interest in health equity.
